I found a used 2001 OB250G Plectrum for sale on Craigslist and purchased it. I would like to convert it to 5 string and called Gold Tone for options. They recommended a new OB150 neck but not a OB250 neck......not sure why. I am starting to slowly collect gold plated parts. Pretty sure the opening on the tension hoop for the plectrum is too narrow for the conversion to 5 string. Will a new tension hoop solve the problem? I will need a 5 string tailpiece. Will the resonator cut out fit the new neck? I guess if I send it to Gold Tone they will make it all work. I would like to do as much of it myself as possible except for the neck cut and fitting to the pot which Gold Tone recommends strongly having them do. I see a new Gold Tone neck on craigslist that already has a flange cut for $175 but I am not sure if it will fit. https://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/msg/d/glendale-new-banjo-neck/7731361563.html
