i have just bought an old 5 string long neck banjo. its not like a normal long neck. it has 24 frets +scoop, the 5th string peg is at the 5th fret. were the ones i have seen the peg is 2 frets lower down, is this a one off. or some sort of made up thing

you have mail. Some times different singers have their own specs. I learned this seeing someone's different placement of capo spikes.
