You should ask on the forums. Blogs don't get many reads.
Forums are located on the left hand side of the page. Under Forums click on Browse Forums, scroll to appropriate forum and click on that. Then in upper left hand side of page click on post new topic. Give your topic a subject, ask your question(s) post pictures and then click on post new topic.
To upload pictures to the Hangout, go to your home page and click on media and follow the easy instructions for uploading photos. Photos must be on your computer/cell phone to be uploaded. After you have uploaded photos, then you can scroll to the bottom of the topic you're asking about and your pictures will be there under attachments. Click on the ones you want to show and then click on preview to be sure they're okay and then click on post new topic.
You can also add pictures to your thread by clicking into your topic and adding another post to it.
As far as what forum to put your topic on, if you think the banjo is an old one, you can post in the Collector's forum. Otherwise, post it in other banjo related forum.
