Hi Gang, I'm looking to buy myself a Gibson 5-string banjo, a good player banjo. I've gone as far as I can with the cheapie one I've been learning on.
How much should I be saving and what's people's preferences? Pre-war 1925-47 or newer conversions? I really want a Gibson banjo, I'm not gonna be a collector because one will suffice. I'm 60+ and it'll be the only banjo I'll ever need.

Check out our classifieds. There are 75 ..... yes, 75 .... Gibsons for sale. Might be one that is just exactly the one you are looking for. You can also get an idea of what they cost.
You might want to ask on the shopping forum about Gibsons and which ones are best. There was a time when their quality control was not as good as it once was and you might want to know which years to shy away from.

Well ,Thank you Texasbanjo. I have been following the marketplace and I've watched the prices really jump within the last year. I don't understand the massive increase on conversions. Aren't they phoney gibson banjos?
