Free Beginning Mandolin or Banjo lessons on Zoom

like this

I know it's been a long time since I've been on here, however now that we're all in lockdown,I thought I'd offer lessons for total beginners via zoom. You can give a donation for each lesson if you wish,or they can be free. I'm doing this for at least the next month.

Here's the requirements: for beginning bluegrass banjo you'll need a copy of Wayne Erbsen's "Bluegrass Banjo for the complete ignoramous". This is the only material we'll be working with.  No switching to other books,or working out of multiple books. I learned my lesson from experiences with other students.

For Mandolin,if you have "The American Mandolin Method" vol 1 or Bluegrass mandolin for the complete ignoramous, either book will do. Again,we're only working out of one book. So if you have both, choose which one you want to learn from and then we're stickin with that.

Lessons will be 30 min in length.

I am, and banjo wise I'm currently teaching 5 string banjo and Irish Tenor banjo. Where are you and do you do Zoom? Still free and/or for donation during quarantine. Are you a beginner and what style were you looking to study?

Just got a 5-string banjo 1 week ago. I live in Los Angeles and Zoom definitely works for me. I’d love to learn 3 finger style. I honestly want to learn them all at some point. I think the beauty of the instrument is it’s versatility and putting the styles together.

Hi BanjoBelle ! Is this offer still on? I was searching for beginner banjo classes and your post came up. I have a 5 string. I’m completely new to all music studies, but love the banjo. Just decided that life is short and to go for it. ?? Anyhow, just checking in. Thank you and have a lovely weekend (or when you get this!)

Are you still taking mandolin students? But I have a special request. I will need more theoretical knowledge. Here is the situation, I provide essays on a movie review on 'Cold Mountain' film to gradesfixer.com/free-essay-exa...e-review/ because of mandolin music in it. I will be satisfied to use information from "The American Mandolin Method" if you prefer. But to write a solid paper I have to learn a little bit more by hand for myself to feel all nuances. if I sound crazy, you can tell me that straight, but I am willing to discuss further details.
