Hello everyone, I am looking at a Gibson RB-500, serial number on the back of the peg head is 348163. I know these banjo's are pretty rare but I am hoping someone in the banjo community can tell me how many were made, the years they were made, possibly who made the metal parts, tone ring, flange, tension hoop etc. as well as the wood rim for Gibson for these banjo's. The finish on the banjo is still very good as well as the gold plating. I am curious also as to the price range of such an instrument. Any information you can provide would be great appreciated by me and the seller.

You might want to ask your questions in the Other Banjo Related forum. Blogs don't get many reads.
Forums are located on the left hand side of the page. Under Forums, click browse topics. Scroll to appropriate forum and to post a new topic, look at the left hand side of the page and click on new topic. Give your topic a subject, ask your question(s) and click on post topic. If you want to know when you get an answer, click on subscribe to this topic and you'll get an e-mail whenever someone posts. Or you can just check back to see if you received any answers.
Also, if you can post pictures, it would help people decide on a price based on the shape of the banjo, it's defects, dents, cracks, etc.
