i noticed that someone asked how long Reno Taiwan banjos were being made in Taiwan... someone posted in 2016 that they have been making them for 15 years....”Wrong”. I have my dads remo weather king banjo that my mother purchased for him in the early 70’s this is about how long they have been making those banjos.. this one I have is still in the plastic wrap and the original case that it came in... my father had passed away hoping to be able to learn how to play a banjo, but never did...this banjo is in pretty new condition and has never been played... if anyone is interested in it, It is available to take off of my hands...
make me and offer!!!

You might want to post a picture of the banjo. Remo Weather King is the manufacturer of banjo heads. I suspect that's what you see when you look at your dad's banjo. If there are no other markings, there are plenty of banjo players here that will help you ID it.

I think that I may just go down to a pawn shop and sell it...
It’s wrapped in plastic and smells like cigarettes...
My mom is a chain smoker, so when it was sitting around I guess the smell got to it... lol

If it smells like cigarettes, take it out of the case, leave the case open and, if you can, outside in the sun and see if the smell goes away. Same with the banjo, leave it out (in the house somewhere) and see if the smell goes away.
