A good feeling through an old chestnut

Fantastic breakthrough today.

Decided to have a bash at Cripple Creek this morning so I can have another tune to sing to.  I had tried it last year but wasn't really getting on with it.(I had learned it basic scruggs and maybe had that sound impinged in my brain).

This morning, within seconds, not only could I play it with bounce and feeling, but I was able to throw in wedges of variations that sounded fine to my ear.

I can only put it down to learning a few other tunes in G this year. Probably loads of time learning 'Nail that Catfish' and 'Possum on a Rail' the biggest help through freeing my left hand due to trying to match fiddle recordings note for note on those ones.

So I'm pretty happy at the moment.  Now I've just got to learn to sing alongside it and I'll post a video.
