I am going to look at this banjo today. http://banjostore.fingerstyle.com.au/tanglewood_2018.html
It has a tone ring which my current entry level banjo does not have, it is $696, so it is $250 more than my original banjo, which my banjo teacher said I was very lucky to get one that does sound like a banjo, for so cheap. My original banjo (which I love) cost $412. So I am going up to see that banjo today and probably buy it.
The other banjo I am keen to look at is, http://banjostore.fingerstyle.com.au/euc_two_leaves_2018.html
which is $1700, and I do really want, but can't afford right now, but it is one to save towards.
So maybe it would be best to save my money and buy a better banjo, but BAS is nipping at my heels, and if this one is reasonable it would be one I could afford, for now, and that I could get a lot out of, my banjo teacher said my current banjo doesn't have enough nuance in sound for him to teach me the next level, he was trying to get me to hear something on my banjo, and then he took the banjo, and said your banjo doesn't make those sounds, that was a few months ago now, So I have been thinking about that a lot.
The other thing is that my current banjo, (I don't know how) got damaged and bent a bit, whilst in the case, no one put anything on it, that I know of so that was upsetting. My banjo teacher did fix it, but the strings are a bit high off the fretboard now.
Anyway I am pondering...
