Come help us operate the new Hangout Network Helpdesk!

In an effort to provide a better experience for all Hangout users, we're setting up a Hangout Network Helpdesk to handle all questions and other support requests. And we need someone to help operate it! This is the perfect part-time gig for someone who knows the Hangouts well and wants a little extra income.


Job Title: Help Desk Specialist

Job Description:

You will be the first point of contact for all Hangout Network Support requests. Requests may come in via our "Website Problems & Questions" forum, or be entered into our new Zendesk support system via email or direct support ticket submission.

The Help Desk Specialist will endeavor to resolve all support tickets on their own in a fast and friendly manner. Tickets may be escalated up to "senior support" (Eric and his staff) if necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Personal computer with a stable, fast Internet connection
  • Proven experience using all aspects of the Hangout Network sites, including forums, classifieds, MP3 library, video library, photo library, and blogs
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally via written text
  • Proficient with PC functions such as file search, cutting, copying & pasting activities
  • One hour of daily availability (weekdays) to devote to Help Desk activities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Zendesk or similar support software in a helpdesk environment
  • Strong track record of involvement with the Hangout community
  • Two hours of daily availability (weekdays) to devote to Help Desk activities

Pay & Hours:

  • You will be expected to work 5-10 hours per week. Weekday work will make up the bulk of your hours, but weekend work is acceptable.
  • Pay will vary from $13-$16/hr, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • IMPORTANT: This is an independent contractor position. You will provide your own computer and Internet connection, determine which hours you work, and submit a monthly timecard in order to be paid.
