Practising Outside the Library & Mean Mary!

Posted by Boadicea on Thursday, March 15, 2018

like this

So I got up and did some practising this morning. I thought about all of you folks and wished you all a good, solid time of practising for some part of today!

And then I thought about banjo, and life, and of course, about getting a new banjo, and how much I love my banjo, and how lucky I am to have the BHO to come to and you good people to read, and so many threads to go and read at some point. It was a stressful day, but I got through.

Then I went to the library and joined up there, and I went outside, it is an exquisite Autumn afternoon. The sunset is of so many colours and hues, and there was a gentle breeze. It was so hot today, so the breeze was just so gorgeous as it caressed me, whilst I was playing. I was jamming this afternoon. I was doing forward backward rolls, noodling, Good Night Ladies, Blackberry Blossom Parts A and B, Untitled parts A and B, and then more jamming and noodling. A woman came up to say hello and asked me what instrument I was playing and where the community centre was, and people came and listened for a few minutes and then headed off, I didn't make eye contact because I was jamming! :)

A new one from Mean Mary - I Fell Into the Night Suffering from banjo envy looking at this one!

Picking outside on a warm fall day! I'm jealous, its in the 20's F here, windy, and have had 3 nor'easter's dump a lot of snow. I can't wait for warm weather to try practicing/busking in public. Keep picking.
