Great lesson with my banjo teacher yesterday

Hello Folks,

I have been MIA with a shoulder issue, but all better now, a minor surgery in a month but I am back on the horse. I couldn't practise for two weeks, and I have missed it. I have really been missing playing my banjo.

My banjo met with an unfortunate incident so luckily my banjo teacher fixed it yesterday. And I got back into it, and that was great. I have found some emotional blocks within myself with my playing, and I was struggling a bit with all that. It is good to be back.

I missed your postings. :)

Are you still doing bluegrass?

Yes I am still doing bluegrass. I really want to get the skills, and to understand the music to a deeper level! I am still loving my clawhammer listening though!

Yea, we all need to keep an eye out for Kate. Every once in a while she drops off the grid!

Kate - good to see you back. Good time to take a step back, re group, re-assess, and launch back in to your program!

By the way, I have found over the years that taking a break has benefits. Often there is new clarity to certain aspects of playing - what seemed impossible becomes easier, etc.

Go for it Kate!

Welcome back, Kate. I had a shoulder issue start up not long after I started banjo. Banjo shoulder? I'm glad your shoulder problem is minor, and I'm glad you're back.

I’m so glad things will resolve. A break is a good happening indeed. The banjo will feelndifferent and exciting. A good workshop or music camp does that, too.

Northl I had a mostly bluegrass listening time this morning! I am learning more bluegrass, it is a bit addictive. My teacher showed me a new roll last week and then said oh practise your other pieces before you do this roll! (When I tried to get him to write it down!) What a tease!

It is true I am more able to do so many more things! It is like a part of my brain grew new neural pathways!

My banjo playing is new and different JanetB! I am more present and doing better with it overall. So many challenges!
