We launched the redesigned Banjo Hangout on Tuesday, Sept 12th.

Lots of folks have asked "why the redesign?" There are multiple reasons for this, but here are the big ones:

Mobile users. More than half of our traffic comes from people on smartphones, and the old site, while usable on a phone, wasn't great. The new design gives smartphone users a much better experience.
New feature capabilities: we have a lot of new features we'll be adding like real-time messaging between members and enhanced/simplified uploading. These sorts of features require a more modern "codebase", and that's what the new site has.
A reshuffling of content: as the site has evolved, certain features have seen a lot of use, and others have seen very little. It was time to reorganize things to make the most important features the easiest to find and use.

I've created a forum topic for folks to share any feedback or problems they run into with the new site. Please try to keep your feedback to this post, so we can follow up without tracking lots of different threads.

nothing on my cell works anymore... Generally, my experience has really worsened. Its a bit beyond a learning curve... there was much to be said for the previous simplicity of the site...

I was a daily visitor to the site. Now I tend to avoid it and when I do
take a peek I have a difficult time navigating. It jumps around too
quickly.

Definitely not as easy to navigate as it was before. Maybe just an app would have been better than changing everything to make mobile use easier. That being said, I still greatly appreciate the website and the work Eric does with it. Can't wait to rejoin the "union" in January!
