Best of luck, Sara! Art and banjo go hand in hand. There are several of us here, and you sure fit right in! Be sure and check in from time to time!

Good luck Sas! Getting that degree will be much better than any post you can make, unless it's to let us know how you're doing :-) Don't worry it'll still be bedlam around here when you get back.
If you do skip school here's all you'll need to know for an exciting career in graphic design.
- Make all bleeds .125 (yes all of them)
- 72dpi web images don't work for printing under any circumstance (no not even that little thumbnail picture at the bottom corner of that postcard)
- If it's made by Microsoft, it's not meant for professional quality design work (especially Publisher)
- Spot colors have names, use them (sky blue and cherry red don't work)
- Registration is not a color (I mean it)
- The inside panel of any tri-fold brochure will need to be 1/16 than the other two (it matters)
That's it, your education is complete, now go forth and use drop shadows sparingly.

This "The inside panel of any tri-fold brochure will need to be 1/16 than the other two (it matters)" should say.
"The inside panel of any tri-fold brochure will need to be 1/16 shorter than the other two (it matters)"
and for God's sake proofread everything twice :-D

Good luck, and don't stay 'too' gone. This place is a great support system, no matter what you're working toward.
I may be taking a class starting Monday as well. I'm 2/3 of the way through a double major, i think it's time I start getting back to it. Yay for us both. :-)

Good luck on your education. I sure believe in it. If you need some design ideas I'll bet we'll try to help.
HoosierGal: Sounds like there may be some indecision on your part. No education is ever wasted. If you get the chance, take it! You'll never regret getting that "double." Good luck.

Hey, ya'll! Thanks for the positive words of wisdom. Stanger: there do seem to be a lot of artist-type people who play banjo. Superior brain cells, perhaps? ;-) SlowPockets: Funny thing is...I know some of that already! (72 dpi is AWFUL, and Microsoft products are evil....) I guess I'll do alright. HoosierGal: Go for it! I've been taking classes online (partime) for a year, and I love it, and I'm doing really well as an older student. Motivation is key. PruchaLegend: Thanks for the well wishes. Education is the best investment we can make in ourselves.
Thanks everybody! You all just confirmed what a wonderful group we have here at BHO.
