I hesitated to post this until I had actually accomplished my plan, but here it is. From the moment I came to Alaska, I have been questioning my sanity for leaving the land of Milk and Honey of Missouri. In Alaska, you have beautiful things to look at, but that's all you can do. There are a wide array of reasons that I have, but I have just come to the realization that - Alaska is not for me.
If to you it feels like I am a ship lost at sea trying to find someplace to anchor, well that's how it feels to me as well. Thankfully I kept my property in Ava Missouri where I plan to return. It has all of my banjo building shop equipment and I intend to return to building banjos (full time is the intention) as soon as possible. I already have 7 in the process that I still need to finish.
So here we go again, I am moving to Missouri. The plan is to leave from Anchorage AK August 1st and take the 1995 Coachman Catalina RV we purchased back to Missouri. It is my hope to stop and meet some of my music friends on the way back. The goal is to attempt to stop in Horsefly BC and meet Jason and Pharis Romero, then Denver CO to meet up with my friend Bob Zuellig, then Lawrence KS to meet with Tricia Spencer and Howard Rains, and KC to meet Betsi Ellis.
Each of the stops I fully expect an overnight stay.
My family, my wife Brandy, and my girls Abby and Hannah, and my son Brandon, are all excited for the trip! It will be the first family trip for us of its kind. I hope a good and memorable one.
That said, here's to new starts...again.

Too bad Alaska didn't work out, but there's plenty of nice things to look at in Missouri. We drove through on our way to Florida last year and I was impressed by some of the scenery.
