It's been 30 years since that day when I looked at the banjo and decided to remodel it.
We have learned a lot over the years. So we at Nechville decided to put our heads together to design the coolest banjo we think we have ever made. We want to celebrate this milestone with a limited edition that incorporates our most requested and popular features and puts forth some new design elements. Allow me to describe some of the thoughts that went into the design of the Triple X Phantom. Photos will be added as soon as they are available.
First in defining the look, we added a vertical stack of 3 X's on the middle of the Phantom style peghead and a "30 year" logo at the 19th fret. The ebony fingerboard has a newly revised version of the popular Galaxy inlay and is bound with exotic cocobolo to match the peg head veneer and the amber and gun metal super precise tuning machines. We used a polished nickel frame with gun metal finish on the Heli-Mount to tie the theme together.
The tone engine is comprised of a brand new engineered tone ring made right in the Nechville factory. It is mounted with the new mating profile cyclotronic fit and shows off its 30 megaphone shaped holes through the warm glow of the Renaissance head.
We are shooting for unprecedented fullness and warm character of tone with lots of dynamic potential. 30 - AAA curly maple neck blanks were hand picked for shaping into sleek and comfortable phantom style necks. The hidden 5th string features our own unique rolling nut to speed the tuning process. High tech black nut material makes for easy tuning while enhancing the look.
The first 30 people to order one of these masterpieces will own a bit of history. Contact Nechville for more details.

WOW how time flies. I think I saw my first Nechville about 25 years ago, hanging in Ciderville Music above Knoxville. That's when the Nechville bug first bit me. I've been enjoying my Athena, Tom. Thanks for making these newfangled thingys. Some 30 folks are going to be very lucky and proud owners of this special model!!

I understand you just hired a young man from Fergus Falls (by way of Red Wing). I don't know him but back in the 80's I played hockey with his dad (Steve) when I lived in Fergus. Apparently he's a friend of my daughter Rachel, who lives in Mpls. I visit MN every summer and would love to drop by and see your operation. Cheers, John

Can't wait to see some pictures of it, and maybe hear a sound file.

I know what I have to do, and I will do it by golly. I pledge to have pictures up and a sound file within a week. Maybe even a video?
