John McEuen commented on my Dismal Swamp attempt

Sometime back, while recovering from my broken foot, I recorded a video of me trying to play John McEuen’s great banjo tune, “Return To Dismal Swamp,” from his String Wizards album.  I posted my attempt on my YouTube page.  Of course, it doesn’t come close to McEuen’s great picking and single string work—mine’s just a straightforward Scruggs-style effort.
Last week, I got a notice from YouTube that “someone” had commented on my Dismal Swamp video.  So, I clicked on the YouTube link to read the comment.  The comment was only three words long:  “CLOSE...VERY NICE.”
The person who took the time to write those three words was none other than the great banjo player and songwriter of Dismal Swamp, John McEuen!
Here’s the link:

Beyond cool, Bill!
I was happy to see the youtube link. I thought that I had first seen your "Dismal Swamp" recording among your pieces on BHO, but when I went to look for it awhile back it wasn't there. Nice to have the youtube link -- I need to save to my favorites!

Thanks for the heads up on the tune on BHO, Tom. I looked and didn't find it, but then remembered its a video. I found it in my videos, BUT I listed it as "Dismal Swamp" instead of "Return To Dismal Swamp." :^D

Thanks for the kind words, Rod and Tom!
