Been playing more melodic bluegrass lately,and as many of you know,I have a passion for wood topped banjos. I'm about ready to order a full sized one from Backyard Music. I adore these folk style banjos and hope to have a mountain banjo one day.
Aside from this I've been making more straps (which will work great for Backyard Music banjos,BTW!) and filling some pretty unique requests. One person wanted a pink flamingo print strap,so I made that,and another fellow wants a plain blue denim color one,so I'll be making some of those,too. In the works are crazy quilted straps,which is great for using up leftover pieces of fabric. (waste not want not!) I'm going to test one of these straps on one of my regular banjos to see how it holds up....in addition to making a strap for kids or petite folk......esp on the smaller instruments like mandolin & ukulele.
Teaching wise I'm now teaching Irish mandolin in addition to beginning bluegrass.
