My Prust tack head banjo arrived two days ago. I'm 61. Limited (as in almost none) musical knowledge and absolutely no talent. Worse yet, this is my first real banjo.
I really like my Prust banjo!
No having much in the way of a clue I tuned it dADF#A primarily because low-tension non-metalic strings don't tear the ends of fingers up (getting soft in my old age).
Though I've only been playing banjo for going on three days my wife has recognized a couple of the simple tunes I played from tab and, much to my surprise, it didn't take me all that long to figure out how to play something that resembles Hatikvah (Israel National Anthem). Make no mistake about it though, a banjo player I am not. I'm just barely able to pluck out a recognizable melody.
The first time I used a computer was in the late 70s. I was 300 feet below the surface of the ocean, location unknown, serving aboard a nuclear powered fleet ballistic missile submarine(google '41 for Freedom'). Been at it ever since. Even owned a small ISP during the 90s. Nevertheless, this is my first social networking kind of post so here goes:
If I can build up the courage I just might post some clips in order to tack my progress.
