May was an interesting month, and now that June has arrived,I'm feeling pretty energetic. To get myself more physically active,I have taken up hula hooping-I never had one as a kid,so now I'm indulging. Very good excersise and inexpensive on the equipment (I got my hoop at Big Lots!) As we've warmed up quite a bit here,I'm outside in the late afternoons.
Dad is progressing well after his pretty serious retina repair surgery and will have another operation once it's healed up enough to remove the oil bubble that was injected into his eye to help with the healing. It's a slow process.
Banjo studies include my learning melodic bluegrass on my 5 string, and also a returning to my 6 string banjitar. I see it's growing in popularity and I started a blog to share tips on playing one. Message me if you want the link to that. I've also started a blog called the "Mystic Banjo Sisterhood" aimed at women players of all traditional instruments who are into the mystical side of things. It's getting a good number of followers and again,if interested, message me and I can send the link to that too. Nothing against mainstream religion, but I felt those bluegrass and old time musicians who are into other paths of spirituality such as Buddhism,Hinduism, etc deserved a place to be open ad be themselves in learning how to nurture their creativity without concern about stepping on anyones toes.
Also busy on FaceBook and running the new Yahoo! store I opened. Been running ads for that in magazines as well.
