I just talked to my pal Jane Rothfield, who has put together an oldtime music intensive camp for intermediate players of banjo, fiddle or guitar, on MLK weekend (January 17-20, 2014. She is teaching fiddle, I'm teaching banjo, and Kellie Allen is teaching guitar... they're 3/4 of my Sugar Pie bandmates. Anyway, she just launched it and are limiting the number of students to 8 for each class, and apparently my class already has 5 students. It looks like it's going to be a great, and fun, couple of days. And I know the food will be good, because I'm bringing someone from my restaurant to feed us!

I saw Jane's blog entry about her workshop. It looks like a great idea, especially since it features 3 instructors who already have great chemistry. It is also good to see an offering designed for intermediate players and to see that intermediate players are responding.
