Ronald hails from Golden, Colorado and is the VERY lucky winner of a beautiful new Bishline Cimarron 5-string bluegrass banjo. Congrats, Ronald--play it well, and be sure to post a photo or two!

A big thanks to Rob, Andy, and the rest of the gang over at Bishline Banjos for sponsoring the drawing. Bishline makes some incredible banjos--be sure to check out their website if you haven't before. You can watch Rob pick on each of their models--and he's one hot picker!

Wow! Thank you so much for this exciting news! It is a beautiful banjo and the Bishline banjos have the reputation of being very top quality.
I am one, fortunate banjo player!

Thank you again both to banjo Hangout and Bishline!

Thank you, Nels.
I am sitting in my office at work with my jaw hanging down!

Thank you, Torben!
The last item I ever won was a stuffed animal at a carnival when I was 12 years old. I'm not 12 years old anymore. You have to add a large number of decades to 12 to get my age now.
Cheers,
Ron

It feels great, banjoman56!
Now, I will sit down with the Bishline when it arrives and immediately sound like a cross between Earl Scruggs and Bela Fleck. Then again, my wife says I have a very rich fantasy life. (Grin)

I appreciate all your congratulations. It is a shock, but a positive shock.
I stopped playing for about 12 years, and started again in August. This is probably the best incentive for playing I have had.

BIG CONGRATS to Ron C. What a killer banjo to reward your new-found enthusiasm for playing!

Also, BIG thanks to Rob at Bishline for his generosity. Class act!

That really is a generous and thoughtful gesture by Rob and the people at Bishline.
On the site, there is a photo of Bela Fleck and the Bishline folks. Now I know why Bela looks so pleased.
I spent time during lunch to peruse the site. There are some fine looking banjos there. It is worthwhile to listen to Rob playing the Bishline banjos. Good, solid playing! I'm going to download some of the videos to help my playing.

Wait ... did you say your jaw's hanging down ??!?!!

Uh oh.

That's bad news .. very serious I'm afraid.

It's quite likely RSI-induced submaxilla TMJ. Sounds bad. It is.

Happens to banjo players a lot. You'll never be able to play again. Might as well send me that banjo. No point in it going to waste.

Well, G, my family physician also says there is no cure. My brother, a former dental surgeon just shrugged his shoulders and looked down at the floor. He did propose to sew my mouth closed to keep my jaw from hanging agape. Everyone in my family voted for that solution.

"Congrats, Ron! Take good care of my banjo for me!"

I will baby it and treat it with TLC! I am compulsive about my banjos, and every smudge on the nickel plating is rubbed off and fingerprints on the wood finish are gently removed, so it will be easy to take care of it for you.
