The following is what I wrote last year about this time and I feel accountable to the BHO community to report my progress this year:
Some people make resolutions....some goals...while others shun any sort of future planning. Doesn't matter I work best when I have a goal in sight. This year it is my goal to learn and proficiently play the songs on this list. Some of the songs I "know" - this means I am working on them already, but can not play them proficiently. Here is my color coding: Green (Brand new to me), Red (already working on, yet not playing proficiently), Blue (know and play proficiently - cleanly picked and up to a relative speed)
Banjo Songs to Learn in 2012
Now that I got this list lit up like a Christmas tree, I have a lot of work to do in 2012. I guess we will see next year at this time.
UPDATE
So after a year of practicing this is what my list looks like now. Here is my color coding: Green (Brand new to me), Red (already working on, yet not playing proficiently), Blue (know and play proficiently - cleanly picked and up to a relative speed)
Banjo Songs to Learn in 2012...and 2013
So as you can see I made more advancement in the area of seasons songs than I did on the traditional favorites. So I will keep picking my way through the list!

So last year you were looking at twenty tunes, out of which you were working on six which equals 30 per cent. This year you're looking at thirty tunes, an increase of 50 per cent, and you are working on fourteen of them, approximately 50 per cent. You know for sure three tunes, representing 10 per cent. There are pretty good statistics, hey maybe you should turn then into a graph or a bar chart. Its good to see your progressing, as you surely are. As long as its enjoyable, that's the main thing.

Wow...thanks for the % breakdown...that is pretty cool! (I made a mistake...actually numbers #21 and #22 should be read as well.) Thanks for the encouragement! I will keep picking through the list!

Well you'd obviously put a lot of time and effort into your blog I felt it deserved a considered comment. but you've blown my stats off course now with that amendment. :-)

Sorry about blowing your stats...but you gave me a new perspective for how I view my progress. Many thanks to you!

Last years list looked ambitious, this years even more so, with progress that you can be pleased with. :-))

Thanks. I am trying. I am hoping to get plugged into a jam this year. But before that I feel like I need a better grasp of my chords and my rolls. We all are looking for that good jam experience...right?
