Don't get me wrong...I really enjoy Christmas. I was hoping that by this Christmas I would have some more Christmas tunes down well enough to play...with others. Yah....that is not happening. So I guess my wish this year is that I am able to play NEXT Christmas (2013). My wife says that I am playing them well, but I set her straight. I show her the tunes some of you play...and then the reality sinks in and she quietly walks away (I guess that means I was right...lol).
I really enjoy playing the banjo and I expect the coming year....as long as I keep practicing....will be another year of improvements. I put the these items on my Christmas list:
I am pretty sure I am getting them for Christmas because I ordered them myself! Ha! (I make Christmas shopping so easy for my family!)
Anyway....I got 12 days before our church's Christmas Eve service...so I will got practice some more before then. Who knows....maybe I can get a song "performance worthy" by then! Of course....that is IF the pastor will let me play!
Oh....Stan Toney...I miss you buddy! Enjoy your Georgia Christmas!
Merry CHRISTmas all!

Jim, I have all of those things on your wish list. Those Nick picks are some kind of slick off of the strings. Only thing is I went to a music store about a year ago and took the picks with me. When I came back home one of them was among the missing. Such is life. Have a Merry Christmas. Joe

Thanks Joe. What do you think of the DVD's?

Jim, take a look at John Boulding's lick of the week in Scruggs Style Forum (I think). Not Gospel but a good little Christmas tune that you just vamp along with.

Thanks David. My problem is not knowing what to play while vamping. There are plenty of songs I desire to play along with....just not sure how to do it.
