At the beginning of 2012 (January 1), I opened a new archeology company in Tyler, TX with my wife. We are now 3/4 of the way through the year and things are going well. I am quite surprised at the fact that we have made this much progress in the first year. We have several very good clients in Texas and we are building our region to include the entire southeast. We are state certified as a DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) and we are working on our state HUB (Historically Underutilized Business) certification as we speak. So far so good!
As for playing the banjo... I sold all of my banjos when I moved back from Florida late last year and concentrated my effort on guitar playing. I have a Martin D28 and a Blueridge BR140A and I sincerely enjoy playing them. But, I could not go for TOO long without a banjo so I bought a Deering Goodtime 2 to tide me over.
I am now just getting into song writing and recording and hope to have some songs to publish soon. I will keep you guys posted.
Todd

Good luck with your career. I'm fascinated with archeology and anthropology.
