The area I live in is a little different. While I have no idea what the local music tastes are, they are clearly not banjo music.
I live right next to a parking lot. This is the bane of my existence. There are an awful lot of teenagers who like to hang out in parking lots late at night. Maybe it says something about how old I am, but I don't get the appeal. Also, I can't figure out why groups of teenagers are so loud. They must be more hard of hearing than my elderly parents. My father doesn't even have to turn up the TV as loud as these teenagers have to turn up their music. And they seem to have to yell and scream at each other even at the quietest moments of the night.
When I lived in the inner city in a Midwest city, Hip Hop music was sort of the background noise for life. Now, it's just annoying. Hip Hop music only seems to happen in the middle of the night in the parking lot. It drives me crazy. I don't want to listen to that. I want to sleep.
The good news is what I found out last night: As much as I don't want to hear their Hip Hop, they REALLY don't want to hear my banjo. Especially played eerily out of the trees right by them, but they can't see where it's coming from. Turns out that "dueling banjos" freaks the hell out of them.
I love my banjo for many reasons. I have used it as personal therapy, enjoyment, and relaxation. But, using it as a weapon was just downright fun. And surprisingly effective.

When we sometimes in Denmark,hear the music from young guyes, driving their car....The music say bum..bum..bum...we often say: " Poor guyes, they miss their mothers. " The sound bum..bum..bum.. remind theme, their Mothers heartbeat.....

LOL, that has to be the best thing I have ever read. If that doesn't encourage you to continue the banjo nothing will, may I suggest yelling "Squeal Piggy" really loud? They may never come back!!!! And I just know that will break your heart. ;)
