River City Music Festival in Portland recently announced they were discontinuing. Its a sad thing, as it was a wonderful festival where we had many good times with a lot of great people. The folks who put on the festival are great people who have become good friends.
But it was costing them many thousands of dollars out of pocket each year to run this event. Though seemingly well attended, the dollars collected at the gate never matched up with the cost of the event.
Still, I know it was not an easy call for them. Many thanks, Chuck and Chris Palmer, along with all the many people who made this a special event.
