Ok this is the second night...always in our kitchen, we keep hearing "scratch scratch scratch" on the door so we wake up and turn on the lights. Twice I have practically taken this kitchen apart and cant see ANYTHING!!?? Can mice really hide that well in such small areas!!?? Anyways..made the mistake of leaving the back window open all night the other day and the window has no screen so I imagine thats how it got in. So whats happened is all the scratchin has kept me and my little pregnant wife up all night, it sounds like a construction project going on in our kitchen! I am thinking about just tossing a canister of mustard gas or a hand grenade in the kitchen at this point...any advice?

Had a problem like that only worse -- several mice that I couldn't catch with any kind of trap. I read somewhere that peppermint oil would drive them away so I put peppermint oil on cotton balls and placed them everywhere I thought a mouse might be. It worked! Haven't seen a mouse in weeks.
Of course my husband had gone through the house and plugged any hole he thought big enough for a mouse to go through and that might have helped, too.
There are also poisons you can use that will take care of them -- but then you might have an odor problem somewhere in the walls of your house if they don't go outside to die.

I thought about gettin me an ole "Tom" and lockin em in the kitchen for a night....that problem will be over by morning for sure! I am pretty sure this one got in through the back window we eave open at night. Summer has been really hot here lately and our back window has iron bars but no skeeter netting...so its open air, and with no AC we have to cool off somehow. Anways I am sure that how this little booger got in!!
