Today, I have my first hearing in court where I find out the results of the custody evaluation. I'm so stressed I've lost 3 pounds since yesterday morning. This hearing is where I find out the direction all of this is heading and I'm terrified. My kiddos are only 2 and 4. This has been going on for almost 2 years now. And, we still may have a few months left. But, this is the big one where I find out the direction and whether I can reasonably expect to keep things going with my kids the way they are. I tried to play my banjo last night and my hands were just shaking too damn bad, so I didn't get to play and relax myself a bit.
Over the weekend, though, I went to my second banjo lesson. I had made noticeable progress! Woo! Plus, he started us on a new version of Cripple Creek (beginner of course) and I kept up pretty well. He was pleased. As long as someone plays SUPER slowly, I can kinda keep up.
Also over the weekend, the guy I've been dating off and on for a while brought over his guitar and we kinda played together for a bit. We managed to mangle "You are My Sunshine" and a couple of other songs pretty badly, but we had a lot of fun doing it and the kids thought it was great. It sounded like the music they make.
Wish me luck and if you're a prayerful person, please pray for me today. Thanks all!

The banjo will help you thru this, as, of course, will friends, family, and prayers. I know...I've been there. Also...I lived up on 11th Ave in SLC about 40 years ago.

Prayers sent Shelley. Try to get back to the pose you used for your avatar. You don't look at all stressed there. :) Good luck, Ron.

I have found i very relaxing to play some tunes in a very slow tempo, really trying to keep the tempo down, in a Tony Ellis style :-)

hey Shelly, prayers are with you and I hope you are well. Take it one day at a time and don't project into what may happen in the future. Enjoy and love your kids each day.
