how to restore nickel plated parts

Posted by Hank2 on Friday, November 11, 2011

Hi, I'm looking for a way to restore the nickel plated parts on my wife's Deering 6 string banjo. it was in storage for a period of time and the nickel all turned black, I have tried many polishes and cleaners but can't seem to make it bright again, she paid a good price for this instrument and it looks like crap. Can anyone out there help please. Hank2

Did you try "Mother's Milk" yet I used to use that on my old motorcycles, and it worked pretty well on my banjo. Also, I know that Stelling has some stuff that's good...and probably a bit better on the nickle plating. Good luck...

Have you tried OZ polish? It works wonders. Good luck
