Yeah I know...this sounds like a strange story...but it is true! In the Fall of 2010 I was on the back porch of my house practicing my banjo. At this point I had only been playing about 5 months. As I was playing I noticed at the corner of the lot a white/gray cat hoped the fence and sat and watched (listened) to my practice my banjo. The more I practiced the closer this cat came towards me. When I reached out to the cat it took off running. For several days, as I practiced on the back porch the cat would appear. Again, when I reached out...bam...it took off running. So when I went out to practice again...I placed a bowl of cat food close by me. Sure enough...I started to practice and the cat made another apearance. This time it saw the cat food and stayed around to nibble. As the cold months came I practiced inside, yet this cat would come to the patio door. Throughout the winter we fed and cared for the cat. Little by little we befriended this stray neighborhood cat. Now he is part of the family.....the long lost cousin....who sleeps on the porch.
Throughout the warm spring, summer and fall days he joins me on the porch. I practice and he enjoys hanging out right next to me.
I have put pictures on my BHO member page.

Great story! Does the cat allow you to pet it yet? or does it still just get close and listen to you play?
