^^ heyya
i am making a 5 string pete seeger style longneck resonator banjo (with steampunk influences) i have a brass bedwarmer.. and a lamppost XDi have all the dimensions :s but i have nothing else.. and i was wondering who should i bug to help me make this.. or make for me.. Would a luthier in england know how to make a banjo? or should i consult a music shop? or..? And to make this even harder.. it has to be local :s my mom wont let me out of derbyshire >.>;;
can anyone please help? .3. almost 17 (will be 17 in march 16th) i have looked at AndyBanjo.. and thats far away (mom said :/) i am currently playing an el-cheapo that has cut me about 4 times now and its missing tension hooks and the tuners need replacing and it might need new strings :s and its ugly D:
i really like the long-necks and i realllly love the vega camp style one >3> that purty one in black and brass look its a long neck but a openback :s i needa know what the +'s and -'s of having an openback over a resonator :s
Clawhammer style is pretty difficult imo >.< and i need lessons to play the banjo to its full potential..
So to some it all up i need everything and.. also some banjo buddies to hangout with in derbyshire :P

I know a good Banjo Builder, he is called Stuart Thompson, he Plays a Tenor Banjo, and Guitar. He resides in the Greater Manchester area.

A BHO member named Medwin Bew (who has a furniture making background) began that process over a year ago... I own his 2nd effort and it is quite good... and he obviously recently went through that process... and he also resides in the U of K. Oh, and Dave Holland (aka Dave Telecaster), also a BHO member, just finished posting photos of his 1st build I think.... and yes, he resides "over there".
Good Luck.
