What a weekend! On Friday did a charity/fundraising gig in Elizabeth, Illinois and ended up playing 4 sessions. Started at 5:30 PM and went till 3:00 AM! 2 sessions at the gig, adjourned to a local watering hole, played till closing, adjourned down the hill to Ray & Judy's house and played till there was nothing left in my tank, not even fumes.
We had the equivalent of 3 OT bands at the gig.
Saturday nite saw Old Crow Medicine Show in Madison, Wisconsin. A great show! Anyone else on the Hangout there?
Then wrapped up the weekend with a jam on Sunday afternoon back in Elizabeth.
Whew!!
A cosmic event: At the charity gig Bill Mort played the tune "You Ain't Talking to Me"...it is one of Bill's signature tunes...we always ask him to play it...after playing the tune with Bill I looked down, and saw a little boy standing no more than 5-6 feet in front of me, couldn't have been more than about 1 1/2 years old...and he was wearing a tee-shirt that said, "You talking to me?"...I asked Bill how much he paid to have that kid planted there...told the kid I would love him for the rest of his life for being there at that time with that shirt saying them words
