Over the past five years Erica Weiss (guitar) and I (banjo) have played the Park Slope Jamboree as LIGHTNING IN THE EAST (which, btw, is also the name of a really nice tune from Sammy Walker). We played (more or less consecutively) with three fine fiddlers: John Hoffmann, Emily Schaad, and Stephanie Coleman. Now Stephanie, Erica, and I have started playing together again. I just posted four tracks from our first rehearsal on 11/6. They are Sugar in the Gourd, Shady Grove (Henry Reed version), Sugar in the Gourd (John ashby version), and Say Old Man I Want Your Daughter.
