Well I think its time for an update.
I have now been playing/learning banjo for 15 months now.
Apart from my break from playing whilst I was off work poor;ey I have been practicing every night for between 1/2 hr up to 1+1\2 hrs without missing a night.
So I suppose that's not too bad?
I have been having weekly lessons with Steve Cadick for 4 months now (blimey where does the time go?)
I look forward to my lessons each week very much, I have a lot of fun with Steve. Obviously he is an exceptional player but he is also a marvelous instructor and a smashingly nice chap. He is very patient (he needs to be with me) but does push you to keep progressing.
He has made my banjo far more interesting and fun.
I am now quite set in my part time work, this gives me a bit more freedom to walk the dogs/go shopping etc and of course make sure I get my banjo practice in too.
My panic attacks/anxiety have been much better since I slowed my pace of life down somewhat, I would not have even thought about doing lessons at all a year or so ago. So that must be an improvement. Still have good and bad days but I am without doubt a great deal better than a year ago.
I am enjoying playing my Vega professional what a wonderful instrument. I also now have a lovely little Vega Little Wonder 16 fret tenor, what a cracking litle thing.
I have to put in a mention for Alan at www.cft-jhopkins.supanet.com for these wonderful instruments, a lovely chap who will bend over backwards to help you out. My poor little Deering goodtime hasn't been out of its case for the last 9 months or so because of this.
I wonder what will be next? This BAS is serious.
Well that will do for now.
All the best
