Talk about a little fish in a big pond! Last Saturday my band (www.cobbstompers.com), had the honor to play at the Anderson Marsh Historic State Park Old-Time Bluegrass Festival. We got to open the festival on the main stage, at 10:00 am. Well, by the time 2:30 came around, John Reischman (mandolin) was on stage!!!! Bill Evans and Megan Lynch (fiddle) were on at 3:10!!!! The reality of hanging out back stage, and being participants in the same show, with the likes of these amazing musicians, was surreal, unreal, weird! Whatever! It was very fun. Actually, they were were pretty down to earth folk themselves. Well, we held our own (no one played livelier old-time dance music) but, we felt out of our league, definately! Hey, here is a plug for Rita Hosking, who was on at 12:40…. the most amazing voice!!!! Maybe, up there with Alison Krauss! I am not kidding. Regards, Dock. P.S. I met the SCHLANGE there too, for the first time! We share the same broader home turf.
