Well,Prof fred(festusbug) sent me his new cd,and its a triumph! just the way they were made back in the 30s when cds were large, black and made of shellac. Before you could overdub anything you wanted, when you had to play it all yourself or at least have a friend sit in the same room and play along, when all a producer did was give you booze and say" allright, when the green light goes on,play your darndest boys!"
This is the way ALL recordings should be made i reckon, and Fred has produced a beauty. Its called "primitive fred" and it is true old time music, not like all these young whippersnapper singer songwriters who are wearing banjos and fiddles as the latest fashion accessory(yes YOU,you know who you are!).Its primitive only in its simplicity of tone and recording, the playing is brilliant and high level, the choices of tracks excellent, and the singing real fine.
Buy this cd if you can find one,its the best thing recorded since 1938.

Could this be the mysterious Mr. Fred P of whom I have have heard so much? Who's "The Push on the Corner" was especially brilliant? Who, according to the people who are constantly telling me "You should meet Fred", knows everything I wish to know, as a banjo nerd and as a science student? That Fred? I will most certainly buy his cd.

Just got a couple of copies of P.F.
It's great! Don't sound too primitive to me.
Very tidy playing and singing of real old time music!
