I have a fender fb58. It is very hard to tune because the tuners adjust too drastically. 1/8 of a turn makes a huge difference.
My question is, how hard is it to change tuners and which type are appropriate for this $450 banjo?
Thanks is advance

Which are appropriate I can't tell you but I can tell you I added Schaller D-tuners and they were very easy to install. I was going to call the local guy but decided to see if I could do it myself. Glad I did as I would've been charged for an hour's labour and it took me about 15 minutes.
