I made my pilgrimage today to pick up my new Hatfield banjo. I couldn't believe my eyes when Arthur pointed out my banjo. I was speechless. I told my wife I thought I felt a tear come to my eye. It is so beautiful. I told Arthur I was a little nervous to touch it. He told me I'm going to have to touch it to play it. Makes perfect sense. Everyone needs to buy one from him and drive to pick it up.

Which model did you buy? How do you feel about it today? I am interested in making this my next purchase. Want to buy the special. Just looking for input.

I bought the Celebrity but had Arthur use nickel instead of gold because of personal preference. The end result was technically a custom but the plating and the block that says custom are the only difference. I love it and would do it again in a heartbeat. It is funny because people that aren't even into banjos can tell it is special.

Brett, when I bought my Hatfield Special I had to have it shipped to me because I live in Calif. The day it came I opened it and looked at it for about 3 hours before touching it. I also know the feeling you had with that tear in your eye. I just love the banjo.

Brett, I first commented on your post in November 09. Today I experianced something special, just as you did on June 25th of 09. My day was one of the best ever. Great people, great fun and boy am I proud of my new Special.
Arthur also replaced the bridges and strings on both of my RK Banjos and man do they sound different. He is amazing and what a pleasure he and Bev are to be around. I feel like I have not just bought a Banjo, but made some good friends.
