The more I find out about this super-bug the scarier it becomes. I was happy when the doctor told me I didn't have a spider bite. When she told me it was mersa I had no clue what it was. I said, I'm just glad it wasn't a spider! She probably thought I was crazy.
Early in this development my toenails started hurting. All of them. Soon one toe formed a black circle about the size of a dime under it. Several of the nails turned black. I imediately decided it was all because I had kicked snow off my shoes a little too hard.
This is the scary partand I'm glad I didn't know it was coming and had already happened. The infection had caused a small blood clot in my heart valve. When the meds kicked in and the infection weakened the clot broke lose. The clot travelled to the extremity of the smallest blood veins farthest from my heart. My toes.
If not for all the thoughts and prayers I might have been one more statistic in the fight against this troublesome disease. I believe it. I still have to be tested to make sure my circulation is good but it will be. Guess I'll be blogging a little longer. Thanks.
Love, Darrell.
