It has been a while since I wrote anything on here but I have something to share with you all. I wish it was better news but as friends of mine I thought you deserve to know this. I have mersa. That is the super-bug that you might have heard about on the news.
My daughter works in health care and was exposed to it. With my weak immune system it jumped on me fast. I am in isolation and that is the hardest part.
I won't go in to any details other than to say it is serious. Most of all I want to say thank you all for being my friends these short years. Everyone who wrote to encourage me, commented on a song and read my blogs and best yet was my friend. Thanks.
However long the Lord decides to keep me here I will keep you informed as to my condition. I sure do appreciate you my banjo buddies. Playing the banjo has been a bright spot in my life. I have to go for now.
Love, Darrell.

Hey Darrell,
Though I don't know you at all - first of all - get well! Modern medicine is fantastic!
I want you to kno that yours is the first blog that I have read since I found the Hangout this week and have joined-up...when I saw 'Blame the Banjo' I had to read your blog!
Even tho it wasn't what I expected to find - I wish u all the best - and I truly hope for a speedy recovery!
I have never thought about my life in your terms before - I always say that much of what I have to be thankful for - friends, fun, great music - emanated from my banjo playing...it led me down a different path...that has been excellent! I now thank you for a different schtick or take on the same notion - from now on, I BLAME THE BANJO!
Take care my banjo-playing compadre! tc.

Wow, if you have seen my latest blog entry you know that yesterday the large area above my left hand was alive and working. I don't want to be graphic but I can see that it is dead! This was potentially a real big problem. Can you believe it?? Dang, I love you all.
