Visited the Pickin' Parlor in Anderson, SC last night. Great Bluegrass music in a very friendley atsomephere. The stage was full of musicians and more kept showing up. The rotated in and out and kept the music going.
Met up with Larry Bell, the lone Banjo player, playing his new Huber, wow, did that thing sound sweet. Hadn't seen Larry in 56 years, we grew up in the same neighborhood. I contacted him through the BHO, and we have been swapping emails.
Yes, I'm going back, they pick every Tuesday and Thursday. Don't know when I will get brave enough to take an instrument but just listening is good too. I unerstand they pick outside in the parking lot in warm weather, that will probably be my first opportunity to pick (20 feet back from everyone playing).
This was my first time listening to live Bluegrass since last fall and I'm looking forward to going back....
