I''ve had the chance to jam with my wife's uncle quite a few times now since my last blog. It is always a pleasure to do so. He is very well versed in many tunes I like to play, and I find it easy to follow along with whatever he chooses to play. I really look forward to every trip up north so we can play again. I also found a new friend here in this area through folkjam.org. she is mainly a guitar player, and had been learning banjo recently. She came to my house once, and we picked awhile one afternoon, and just the other day, I went to her house along with another guy that played guitar, and one fellow that was an awsome mandolin player. We picked for about 4 hours and I have to say, I really thought we sounded wonderful together. I have been invited out to a jam that occurs once a month by my new friend the last 2 months now, but each time the weather had stopped us from going. Hopefully this month I will be able to go to that. I have also seen where they have a few jams near me that happen bi-weekly and monthly. I may look into those if I can find time. I REALLY love playing with others, it is something I never expected from learning how to play banjo when I started out.
