Feedback needed after 7 days as a picker!

Posted by Russ Wren on Tuesday, January 6, 2009

Hello all!

I'm hoping that some of you can remember back to when you first picked up the banjo, and give me some feedback :)

The clip is low quality (as is my playing) due to the fact i have a sweatshirt stuffed in the RK (to keep the neighbors happy), and I used the built in mic on my laptop to record this. I recorded the clip today, the one week anniversary of my playing debut :) Here is the link:

I know the timing is goofy, and flubbed notes abound, but since I don't have a picker in the neighborhood to bounce this off of, I thought I could ask you folks if this is acceptable for a low-timer, or if I should throw the thing out the window!

Dam you are doing much better than I did after 1 week. Keep up that learning pace and you will be flying. Great effort.

Much better than me too. I'm also disgusted  that you seem to have bought the R85 I was drooling over today on andybanjo's website :) Best of look with it,it's a beaut.

Thanks for the feedback guys, certainly gives me incentive to keep working at it!

dubtom...sorry I stole the RK out from your grasp, but I think Andy might have another!  :)
