Just got back from Philadelphia and the Mummers Parade. Got to see a lot of friends from the old days. Charlie Roetz made his debut appearance as Captain of the Quaker City String Band today and won the first prize Captain's award. Congrats my old friend!!
By the way, it seems there are more and more Bacons showing up in the parade these days. I've probably seen more Silver Bells today than any other single day of my life. You could open a Bacon & Day dealership with the ones being played by the front line banjo players in Quaker City and Fralinger alone. There were several others I saw strewn throughout the 18 band lineup, as well as a few Senoritas and Gretsch models here and there. All in all, I would say the Montana has become the most popular model these guys are seeking out.
Happy New Year to all here at BHO and best wishes for a fantastic 2009 !!!!!!!!!
