Try Gerry O'Connor's book on the Irish tenor banjo. It's the best for learning Irish music. You can find at www.melbay.com

Dixieland and Irish are two very different styles. You need to clear in your mind which syle you want to persue. Elderly Instruments have a selection

I highly recommend Gerry O'connor's Absolute Beginners DVD for starting out with your Tenor Banjo.
