Gerry O'Connor Irish Tenor Banjo Complete Techniques is great for EADG tuning

I know what you mean. Tenor banjo materials are really hard to find. I would suggest the following two sites :
http://www.patterryjr.com/lessons.htm
http://www.timallan.com/merchandise.html
The first is probably better for a beginner. The second one has lots of intermediate and advanced stuff. They aren't glitzy Mel Bay-type books, but the musical quality is extremely high.

I have down loadable chord charts for standard tenor, Irish tenor, as well as plectrum. Also the same for scales and audio examples of all chord inversions for standard tenor as well as plectrum banjos on my website at no cost; http://www.banjoseen.com/SiteIndex.html
Check it out, then you can make a better choice when buying instructional material.

Hmmmm. Tenor Banjo Instruction materials. One comprehensive but out of print method is "The McNeil Chord System", of which I have a copy. It's for a "serious" student. If you are not serious, it will overwhelm you. Lots of reading, studies, technique, scales, songs, and sychopation examples. Most probably you will need a teacher to guide you through the journey of this book, and to demonstate the techniques included in the instruction. Example- DUO FORM, a technique where a single banjo is played so it sounds as if 2 banjos are playing. It just so happens that I DO TEACH TENOR BANJO in the Kansas City area. Feel free to ask me any other questions as well about the tenor banjo. It's a joy to see someone take an interest in this fabulous instrument!!

It was never a problem when I played irish tuning...id just work mainly from Mandolin Tabs and Charts!
Now Ive changed to tenor tuning...and more focused on playing jazz style rather than irish...is anyone aware of ANY Jazz tenor tunes in Tab format on the internet especially those that are ...dare I ask... at no cost? Anyone got any they're keen to share even? ;) What are peoples views on public domain sheet music anyway-should there be more?...especially if the tunes are considered "standards"?
I guess the one upside of this lack of tabs/music for tenor is that its taught me to read other music and adapt it to the banjo a lot more than I used to...however slow and painfully :(

Wurzel,
Do you want tabs, or charts? There's an excellent source on the net for good standards charts.
