I also have arthritis and find that one of the arthritis creams used daily helps me, it tames the pain, stops the inflammation.
I would be very careful taking aspirin. It might help you now, but it can also cause stomach problems and bleeding. I hope you have talked to your doctor about taking aspirin.

Have her try high-CBD low-THC gummies. Not a cure, but it can help ease symptoms.
Wishing her the best.

Horse Liniment. My 103 year old grandmother would by it from the feed store over the years and apply it to where ever hurt on her body. I tired it for a sore knee several years ago and it seemed to help.

I whip my knees with stinging nettle. Don't know where I learned about the analgesic property but it feels good.
I can't get DW to whip my back with it. Maybe if I buy another old tractor?

I recommend a daily helping of chocolate chip mint ice cream.
Some would say it's just a placebo, but placebos work better than a lot of pharmaceuticals and OTC drugs.

About that Evan Williams; yes, that works. A bit too well. A stout drink before bedtime surely does knock the pain level back. Problem is, just how often does one need to do that? Which is the problem with every form of pain relief. Opium makes one feel better, and don't you want to feel better---always? If you have an easy choice, how often do you choose to hurt? But when pain is severe I won't condemn anyone's choice. I'm just wary of the downside.

I don't put much stock in home remedies, but my wife got this suggestion from a friend: dab cod liver oil on the effected joint and put a heating pad or warm towel over the cod liver oil for 5-10 minutes. It's one of the few home remedies I've tried that helps with my knee pain. Works for a couple of hours for me - and two hours is better than nothing. Evan Williams does help but I find Woodford Reserve Double Oaked to be more helpful. It's more expensive, but slightly more effective. Can't seem to get my health insurance to cover it.

Shine, gins, rums, bourbons, scotch, tequila, wine, beer, other stuff, all hit differently. It's worth experimenting. With my daily scripts, I have to obstane. Have one for me!
