Hi,

I'm a big fan of the way Riley Calcagno's banjo complements Viv Leva's guitar playing. Does anyone know what tuning he's in? I know they play in B, but when I tuned double C down to B it didn't work.

While we're on the subject, do we know what kind of banjo he's playing?

thanks

I assume you are talking about this one:

The version on her bandcamp recording has no banjo on it.

She is playing G chord shapes on the guitar, capo 4; I think he is probably playing in G tuning on the banjo, also capo 4.

He's just in double C tuned down a half step to B, so: f#BF#BC#

Thanks for the help. I had guessed about "double B" but then forgot that was only half a step down from C. Dennis Caplinger on a video says banjo players don't need music theory (he added "trust me") but in theory I did actually know that.

There are still lots of tricky things Reilly does so I'll hope to pull more hints from their videos.

Thanks again
