I still play these and catch bad spots for fun--the ambient tracks were way too loud but i seemed to tone them down ,on into the piece--anyway there it is-

Nice work, Tom.

The first tune is Billy in the Lowground. Billy in the Lowlands is different.

thanks for listening Bill, and in your history you probably have proof --

I don't see it that specific --the fog lays in them either way ha ha --I actually nowdays - also play a completely different tune but they hit the chord structure and would both be at home as texas fiddle tracks-I am thinking I started saying lowlands from A"Poor Richard's Almanac record on the Nitty Gritty Uncle Charley Album

BTW if you have a link to the alternate you speak of I am always up for a good tune--

Here is where the library of congess gives info on the titles

I will start calling it Billy In The Lowground for a while--that does seem more prevalent

Yep, Billy in the Lowground was on the Uncle Charlie album,, Jimmy played it on mandolin with Jeff on rhythm guitar and we had stereo speakers at each end of the room,, they’d come in quiet at first on one speaker then move across the room louder and fade out on the opposite speaker,, just as if a couple of guys were walking by outside playing. Loved it. youtu.be/2WYFzqGY8fg?si=QqWDj2CJUTEFCBRA

btw, Gary Scruggs’ nice song “The Lowlands” was recorded by Dirt Band ,,, and John & Jeff’s sons sing it live at some concert ,, it’s on YouTube.
